Have you ever wondered how they create those complex looking dolls in the books and magazines? What's their secret? It is actually quite simple... it's Paperclay! You may know it as Creative Paperclay or La Doll to name just a few. So you might ask.... What then is cloth covered paperclay? It's when you apply a cloth skin over the sculpted form to create a truly professional doll! We aren't simply going to slap some acrylic paint onto the head... We are going to take it to the next level!

Each pattern workbook is spiral bound and includes color photos, detailed diagrams, and/or black and white photo copied photographic images so there is no guess work. The directions are clearly written and thorough for all phases of the dolls construction including the costuming, the bases when applicable and my patterns always include full size pattern pieces.

Thaddeus the Wolf ~ Thaddeus has a cloth covered sculpted clay head featuring an open mouth with a tongue, cloth covered sculpted clay ears, inset glass eyes with dimensional lids, fresh water pearl teeth, an articulated wire armature & soft sculpted poseable hands and body, button sling joints, a mohair wig, leather boots, a fiber enhanced vest, and an applied fabric skin. Detailed coloring techniques are also included. This is a bound workbook pattern.

The Bird Man © 12 inches
The Bird Man ~ Has a cloth covered sculpted paperclay mask with inset glass eyes and dimensional lids, a soft sculpted body, face & head with an applied paperclay skin (this creates a seamless face), articulated wire armature & soft sculpted poseable hands, laminated fabric feathers. Advanced art painting techniques are used on cloth to create his body's coloring, a wire armature allows him to be free standing, and various fibers are used to create the wig. Detailed coloring techniques are also included. This is a bound workbook pattern.

KOEL the RAVEN ~ Has a fabric covered sculpted paperclay beak, a soft sculpted head featuring unusual quilted accents with hand-painted glass eyes and dimensional lids, trapunto techniques are used to enhance and give more dimension the head.
