My Artist Statement
Artist Statement...
In my work I try to reveal the expression of the mind and heart and their interaction together. My art ranges from representational, to abstract hopefully offering the viewer another perspective.
I think of the art doll body as a canvas, transforming the form with Layers of Fabric, Words, Found Objects & Embellishments to emphasis the form, and to create a dimensional collage.
It is my philosophy that there is no wrong way to create an Art Cloth Doll. You Can Not Fail!
Simply follow what your inner voice is telling you, and create what you feel. It really is that simple.
Art is whatever you want it to be!

Don't be afraid to call yourself an artist. If you are a homemaker/craftsperson please don't let others label you and make you think that what you are doing (your art/crafts) are not important or of real value. YOU ARE IMPORTANT, and what you do is too!

It doesn't matter if your work is never displayed in a gallery or show, or that you never sell a thing. That is not what makes you an artist. Simply creating something from your own imagination purely for the joy of creating... that's an artist.
